Description :
The Epiphone 6830E is a rare, vintage dreadnought acoustic guitar built in Japan between 1970 and 1971. It holds historical importance as one of the very first Epiphone models produced offshore after Gibson moved Epiphone production out of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Key Features & Specifications
Origin: Built by the highly regarded Matsumoku factory in Japan.
Design: It was essentially a rebranded Aria acoustic guitar. The "E" suffix specifies the Epiphone version.
Body Construction: Crafted with a select spruce top paired with rosewood back and sides. It features a 16-inch body width and 4.75-inch body depth.
Neck: A mahogany bolt-on neck featuring a rosewood fretboard, 20 frets, and distinct mother-of-pearl block inlays.
Bridge: Unique adjustable rosewood bridge, allowing players to easily raise or lower the action depending on the climate.
The 6830E was only manufactured for about a year before Epiphone transitioned to the more common "FT" model numbering system in late 1971. Because of its short production run and great tone, it has a dedicated collector community and generally commands higher interest than other mid-70s Epiphone acoustics.
